Music Ministry Music is an important part of Ringgold First Baptist Church. We use piano and organ, sing the great hymns of the faith, use preludes and postludes and choir anthems. The music is designed to aid in the entire flow of service toward the worship of God. Music lessons If you have ever wanted to learn, improve, or expand your music, here's an opportunity for you. Jim Bailiff provides 30-minute music lessons on Wednesdays from 11am to 5pm and Thursdays from 1pm to 7:30pm. You may come as a group or individually and there is no charge to you except that you prepare the assignments and you use your talents somehow in a choir, a solo, or as an outreach for the Lord through First Baptist. Call the church office at 706-935-2358 to sign up. We have choirs for various age groups: Melody Makers Choir — for children 4 years old – Kindergarten Young Musicians Choir — for children grades 1–6 Adult Choir — Open to all adult members, they are an integral pat of our 11:00am worship hour. Choir practice is scheduled every Wednesday evening at 7:30pm. J.O.Y. Choir — (Just Older Youth) this very special choir is for our senior adults. They sing in our early Sunday worship service on a regular basis as well as special musical presentations throughout the year. Hand Bell Choir — Our hand bells are unique instruments which we use to praise and worship God. This choir is made up of twelve selected persons eighteen and over. They play periodically throughout the year in our worship and add a great deal to special occasions. Instrument Ensemble — Open to all wind, string and brass musicians. We play at church functions, and practice every Wednesday at 6:15pm. Bring your instrument and come to play! Other musical interests: Frettin On Faith Dulcimers — We are an affiliate group of Ringgold First Baptist Church. We are available for playing retirement homes, church functions, and anywhere dulcimer music is accepted. |
