Family/Children Ministry Here at First Baptist we seek to make worship a family affair. Whether you have children in the nursery or the sixth grade we want them to experience God physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually from a Biblical point of view. Our family ministry will build on the following foundational needs. (1) To help families by encouraging and equipping them in raising children and youth who love the Lord. (2) To emphasize the importance of developing a personal relationship with Christ and then equipping both children and youth to grow in their faith. (3) To help children become grounded in the basics of faith for a firm foundation for later life. (4) To help youth develop a strong relationship with Christ and a personal Christian identity while becoming integrated into the work of the church. (5) To develop a well-rounded program that involves parents (and others) in their children's and youth's lives. By well-rounded, we mean to include spiritual, physical, and emotional components of the Christian faith. (6) To develop good role models (not family related) for children and youth. (7) To develop an attitude of sharing one's faith and personal involvement in missions and ministry. |
