General CPT Information (alaphebetical order) CLOTHING & PERSONAL BELONGINGS:  Dress your child in simple two-piece play clothes and tennis shoes (no hats, gloves, pocketbooks, boots or articles easily lost).  Please mark coats, bag, and sweaters with child's name.  Each child MUST keep a change of clothes in their tote bag daily. Also, we will send home notes, their art work, etc. each school day in the bag. (We accept children in diapers.) CONFERENCES & VISITS:   You are free to visit Creative Playtime any time your child is present. Call and arrange a conference whenever you feel there is a need.  Your child's teacher will tell you when she is free, so don't feel that you will be taking the teacher's time away from the children.  We keep a written record of each child's achievements. Parent conferences are in the spring.  Parents must make appointments if they want one. EMERGENCY:  We are fortunate to have the Emergency Unit so close and will call if needed. If you have any questions about how they handle situations, please call them. LUNCH:  Each child will need a nutritious sack lunch consisting of protein, fruit and vegetable.  We furnish milk. If your child is allergic, please send juice to drink. We eat at 11:15. MESSAGES:  Verbal messages brought by the children CANNOT be accepted by the teacher.  Please tell teacher, write in the message book, call or send a written note. OPEN HOUSE:  Open House is in August to acquaint your child with the new room, teacher, and meet new friends.  This is the time for children and parents to play together in the room. Parents may talk to the teacher before the first school day as she is busy with children on the first day of school. OUTDOOR PLAY:  Our playground provides play that develops large motor muscles, hand/eye co-ordination for reading and the working together of all the muscles of the body including back, legs, arms, speech, vision, etc.  We dig in the beach area, push big trucks, ride tricycles, pull wagon, wheelbarrow, etc. on the fenced paved area.   Children at Creative Playtime go outside to play if the temperature is above 45° and not raining. PICK-UP AUTHORIZATION:  Parents list who can pick up their child on registration forms in advance.  If the person or persons listed as normal pick up the child isn't available, the parent must call or send a written note as to who on the list will pick up their child.  If the teacher doesn't know them, the person needs to show proof of identification (a picture I.D.). SCHOOL CLOSINGS:  We will observe all Catoosa County school In Service days and holidays.  In case of snow, emergency closings, or other reasons for public schools dismissing, Creative Playtime will be closed and cannot make up the days. We are a 10 month pre-K program beginning in August and ending in May. SNACKS:  A morning snack is served at 9:00 a.m. Parents take turns furnishing refreshments. We appreciate parents taking the time to buy refreshments requested.  They make our teaching units more fun: apples when talking about apples and trees or circle crackers when we talk about circles.  We learn to drink water daily. STATE OF GEORGIA REQUIREMENTS:  You will need a copy of the Georgia pre-school form from your child's doctor or the Catoosa County health department within 30 days of enrollment, stating when your child's next immunization is due. Please, give teachers any bottles of medicine along with a state medicine permission form.  It must be dated and signed giving instructions to the teacher. (See the handbook) We report any suspected cases of child abuse and the sexually abused child, also. TOTE BAGS:  All children enrolled will need a Creative Playtime tote bag by the first school day. Children should bring bags daily.  Bags are $9.00 each and Creative Playtime T-shirts are $10.00 each.  Ask teacher for order form if interested.
